About the Event:

The entire session was divided into 3 parts:

1. The introduction of PERLP: The students, guests, and teachers were informed about PERLP, its mission, and its vision. The purpose of this part of the session was to introduce PERLP to the audience so they are aware of an institute that works towards civil defense for the youth of Pakistan.

2. The awareness session: This part of the overall session consisted of a lecture to educate the audience about fire, its classifications, history, and chemistry. This awareness lecture was meant to give the audience a comprehensive understanding of fire as to equip them with the knowledge and recognition of different types of fire.

3. The training session: This part of the awareness session consisted of hands-on training in extinguishing fires with natural resources e.g water and sand. The purpose of the hands-on training was to teach the students the effective techniques used to extinguish fires. The volunteers from the audience were also made to extinguish the controlled fires created for the purpose of teaching under professional supervision so they may have an idea of what to expect in case of a fire disaster.

Where did the event take place?

The session was conducted at ICB G-6/3 Islamabad. This session was conducted on May 13 2014 with students from grades 6 to 8 as the targeted audience. The teachers of the school were also present in the session along with the principal and other administrators.

When did the event take place?
The session began at 10 a.m. and lasted until 12:00 p.m. and it was divided as:

• 10:00 am- 10:10 am welcome and introduction of PERLP

• 10:10 am- 11:30 am awareness lecture

• 11:30 am- 12:00 pm training session

 

Why was the event scheduled?

To educate the youth of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan about self-safety so they can learn to save their lives and the lives of people around them in case of emergency.
