“Fire Drill: Youth Safety in Action”
I was inspired to start this project because fire safety is a crucial skill that everyone, especially youth, should know. Working with firefighters provides hands-on experience and builds confidence to respond quickly and safely in emergencies. Empowering young people with these skills can save lives and create safer communities.
We successfully executed the project in collaboration with Barguna District Administration, Barguna District Rover Scouts, and the Red Crescent Society. Together, we planned and organized a practical fire drill session where professional firefighters demonstrated safety techniques and emergency procedures. The youth actively participated under expert guidance, gaining hands-on experience and building confidence to handle fire emergencies effectively.
Throughout this project, we learned the importance of teamwork and clear communication during emergencies. We realized that hands-on training with professionals like firefighters greatly boosts confidence and preparedness among youth. Also, early education on fire safety can save lives and reduce damage, making communities stronger and safer.
