Fiji- Better Membership & Scouting Excellence
The interest of leaders from rural and remote areas of Fiji inspired me to take up the project. The initiative was a long term plan for Fiji Scouts to increase the members. In addition, as diversity & inclusion was promoted nation wide, this was the perfect time for the association to start new programs and attract new members.
Fiji Scouts Association together with the assistance from government agencies started the initiative of quality scouting nationwide. The main focus of the initiative was to increase the membership of Fiji Scouts Association and rural and remote areas were the targeted areas.
The team gathered virtually in March and April 2022 respectively. This online meet aimed at gathering local leaders. A face to face meet was also organized for local membership growth coordinators.
The quality scouting effort propelled Fiji Scouts to new heights in several areas, including membership, community scouting activities, the restructuring of certain scouting districts, and the general performance of leaders nationally. Most importantly, there was a big increase in registration of members.
1. I learnt hw to organize a workshop.
2. I also learnt on connecting with stakeholders , compiling a report and also communicating with other stakeholders.
3. I learnt the basics of community scouting; the traditional welcome ceremony, native language and village protocols.
