Feeding the Unfortunate: Iftar Distribution
Ramadan is the ninth month in the Muslim lunar calendar. For Muslims around the world, Ramadan is an important month for fasting and prayer. In Ramadan, Muslims embrace a sacred rhythm, fasting from sunrise to sunset.
Through fasting, they feel the discomfort of hunger and thirst, which serves as a reminder of the daily hardships faced by the poor and hungry. Which became my ultimate motivation to distribute food among the unfortunate.
The project was implemented by a youth organisation called "Aqeeq". Some of us scouts volunteered for this project. We unitedly distributed food among the unfortunate people who were unable to afford it themselves.
This project taught me compassion and empathy. Witnessing the gratitude of those who received the food made me appreciative of the blessings and privileges in my own life.
