EXPOSING YOUTH TOWARDS STEM RELATED FLYING HOBBY
Expose young children especially new generation and school children towards STEM related activities, beside skill based outdoor interaction with community. By joining and educating RemoteControl hobby, youth will be more exposed with publics and community thus enable them to be more proactive in society and scouting activities
This programme was executed in Pusat Sains Negara Kuala Lumpur, with collaboration with Ministry of Science MOSTI and MUDAS (Drone Activist).
The idea is to bring Radio Control (Remote Control) hobby similar like Lencana Penerbang Udara RC to the publics, especially targeted towards school children.
This is one of the way to show support and give impact towards Dasar STEM Kebangsaan by Ministry of Education Malaysia
This has led to reaching out to more than 300 school children, mainly from B40 communities. Public schools and teachers get to understand on how this RC hobbies especially flying RC could be relevant towards their science subjects, where we educate on the basic principle of Aeromodelling physics, thrusts and lift of an aircrafts including Plane and Drones.
Thus, this enable underprivileged school children to get the experience of flying RC in more interesting way, beside the safety of flying RC
By doing this public showcase, we can see that new generation always interested with technology, and such exhibition has helped to gauge the level of STEM understanding with the young generation. From this programme, some of them started to ask and explore on technological based activity related to aviation and become more engaged while trying the equipment and we can see the passion in learning STEM based programme.
As a Scout member, this is such satisfying which get us closer to youth
