Espero Glorious Day
As students, it saddens us to think about children our age who struggle to get enough to eat. We want every child to have their nutritional needs met so they can focus on their studies and reach their full potential. Therefore, during the holy month of Ramadan, we decided to give back to our community, supporting fellow students as well as people who simply need a warm snack after a long day.
We conducted the "Espero Glorious Day" event during the month of Ramadan. It was a collaborative project between the Scout organization (Dewan Galang) and the Student Council (OSIS) at my school. The event ran for three days, during which we handed out food to passersby in front of our school. We also donated staple food packages and money to three orphanages in Semarang. One specifically for infants and toddlers, and two for children ranging from primary to secondary school age.
I’ve learned that not everyone grows up in the same circumstances. Some can easily afford whatever they want, while others have to fight just for a single meal. Moving forward, I will be more grateful for the food I have and make a greater effort to help those in need.
