Earth Hour 2024

Earth Hour is a global environmental movement organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It began in Sydney, Australia in 2007 when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 businesses turned off their lights for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Since then, Earth Hour has grown into a worldwide event observed in over 190 countries and territories.
Every year, Earth Hour is held on the last Saturday of March from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. local time. During this hour, individuals, communities, and businesses are encouraged to switch off non-essential lights and electrical appliances as a symbolic gesture to raise awareness about the importance of taking action on climate change and promoting sustainability.
Beyond just turning off lights, Earth Hour aims to inspire people to make broader changes in their lifestyles and advocate for policies that address environmental issues. It serves as a reminder that collective action, no matter how small, can have a significant impact in combating climate change and preserving the planet for future generations.
