Dorokha School Newsletter Publication.
I am fond of literature and If I cannot contribute to it, I can coordinate to provide platform for those who can. ཤེས་མཛོད། The Treasure of Wisdom is one such platform. The idea of publishing school Newsletter is simply motivated zeal from having had students so passionate about reading and writing. The encouraging words from the Principal and support from colleagues and students is obvious reason for getting me going with this initiative.
We are implementing this project in our school. First, all staff and students were sensitized about the objectives behind school newsletter publication. Then teacher editorial board and student editorial board were formed for systematic coordination. The job of student editorial board are to collect the articles written by students and edit and then submit to the coordinator to be further submitted to teacher editorial board for final edition. We are publishing three newsletters in a year.
We observed increasing number students contributing articles indicating that they are interested in writing and looking for platform. Moreover, we shared our school newsletter to nearby schools to encourage the culture of reading and writing. I was being contacted by one of the teachers who was keen to know about school newsletter publication procedures and assured to initiate similar initiative at his school right away.
I have learned that there are so many creative young writers and all they needed is the platform and little bit of guidance. Moreover, i have learned that forming committee would not only ease the work for coordinator but also yield better results. This initiation can be made better and more coordinated by assigning different roles such as photographer, typist, layout and designer apart from editorial board.
