Had undergone Disaster Preparedness, Civil Defense & Disaster Management training session held by Udupi District Fire Brigade Department's officers ,where we all learned about various technique's related to disaster management , equipments of fire brigade department and their Uses. Natural and man made disasters, Principals of emergency operation :- Prevention , Preparation, emergency evacuation, Mitigation, Response, Recovery and also the stages of civil defense & civil defense organization with in country and in various country like Civil Aid Service - Hong Kong State emergency service - Australia Defense civil - Brazil Civil Defense of India Assistant fire station officer Gopi sir thought us about rescuing methods with the use of various knots like Simple figure of eight knot, Reef knot, Clove Hitch, Sheet bend ,Bowline , Round turn and two half hitches & Timber hitch .. They also gave a knowledge about Uses of Jack's and also Chain hoist & Floor jack , Laders strutting and shoring , emergency handling of casualty. Various stretchers like improvised stretchers , Blanket & poles stretchers knowled ge simultaneously provided by them.. They also thought us 5 stages of rescue like *Reconnaissance & dealing with surface casualties *Location & removal of light trapped casualties *Exploration of likely Survival points. *Further exploration & selected Debris removal. *Systematic Debris Removal. We all felt very Happy for that effective knowledge provided by them .. they also gave us permission to render service at fire station whenever we are free.. It was very precious to be there today ..
