Development and support Scouting in Albania

REGIONAL PROJECT - DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT SCOUTING IN ALBANIA In 2019, the European Scout Committee decided to support the development of Scouting in Albania. The project objective is to build Scout groups and critical amount of Scout movement across Albania that will be able to create the next National Scout Organisation in Albania. The Europe Scout Region foresees for 2024, a WOSM recognised National Scout Association in Albania and having approximately 5'000 members.
Scouts & Destination Management Albania (S&DMA) is officially registered. Today, 10 local scout groups are supported by the project, including one with Afghan Refugees. 40 scout leaders have been fully trained in Leadership, project management, partnership and first aid. Several Western Balkan NSO are actively supporting the development of Scouting in Albania. 7 leaders participated to the S & G Academy 2021 and Agora22. Partnerships with national and international NGOs were concluded
The local scout groups started to provide quality services to more than 500 children and youth according to WOSM criterion. Scouting in schools will be developed and deployed and young scout leaders will be equipped with knowledge and experience to further develop. Scouts of Albania is getting better developed and strengthened its presence at national level. Scouts will participate in different events during the Tirana European Youth Capital 2022 with a Scout event in September 2022
Youth and young adults in Albania are motivated and extremely active in supporting each other but also their communities. All scout units are collaborating and coordinating with local authorities and found a location to meet. In addition, several local actions are organised and each scout groups are supporting the others. This is very encouraging for reaching our main goal to have a WOSM recognised NSO in Albania by 2024
