Day-2 and 3 Webinar on I'm a Global Citizen - SDGs

Day-2 Report: Challenges in the WAGGGS Implementation:

 

The 2nd Day Webinar was Anchored by Mr. Mohammad Abrar Shariff and Shimtilang. Webinar was started with General Salute to the Chief Guest  followed by the BSG Prayer. Welcome Speech was presented by Mrs. Darshana Pawaskar, Joint Director (Guides) BSG.Dr. Pankaj Mittal, National Commissioner (Ranger) cum Secretary General of All India University was the Chief Guest of the 2nd Day Webinar. In her address she appeal to the scouts & guides to continue their Scouting & Guiding Career as Rovers & Rangers in the Colleges & Universities as well by approaching the head of the Institutions if the unit is not exists. She addressed the participants about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its importance in our life and the role and functions of individual to become a Global Citizen as responsible one by the word and deeds. Feelings of unity as “Vasudaiwah Kutumbh Kambh” among different communities and nationalities should be practices.

The resource speakers of the webinar were Ms. Rojo Adrianmahery, Advocacy Coordinator, Girl Powered Nutrition and UN Challenge Badge, World Association of Girl Guide & Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), Ms. Germaine Umuraza Advocacy Manager, Girl-led Action on Climate Change Programme, WAGGGS, Ms. Nikita Miller Advocacy Champion, Together We Rise STV Programme, Girl Guide South Africa, Ms Ankita Pandey, Advocacy Champion, Plastic Tide Turner Challenge Badge, Rajya Puraskar Guide, Bharat Scouts & Guides, India.

Ms. Rojo Adrianmahery, Highlighted the “I’m a Global Citizen” SDGs at WAGGGS, which was divided into four parts SDGs,  WAGGGS SDGs framework, WAGGGS Global Programmes & SDGs, Together for Global Goals.

She took over the sessions on SDGs Frameworks  which were very lively on the ahaslides with interesting questions  and again after other Resources Speakers took the sessions on WAGGGS Global Programme on SDGs like YESS-Girl Movement & Her World Her Voice, Free Being Me.

Ms. Germaine Umuraza took the session WAGGGS Global Programme like Surf Smart 2.0, U-Report & Stop the Violence,

Ms. Nikita Millerhighlighted the projects under taken in South Africa like Stop the Violance , Together we rise-Gender based Balanced in South Africa, etc.

Ms. Ankita Pandey also highlighted about the Project on Plastic Tide Turner Challege in her locality in Assam, India.

There was interesting quiz competition on Slido undertaken by Mr. Satyajit Chaterjee followed by State project report of Nagaland by Imli Sunip State MoP Coordinator, Nagaland, and Project Report of Odisha State presented by Ms. Barsha Rani Maharana.

The 2nd Day Webinar was adjourned with the proposed of Vote of Thanks by Shri, Amar B. Chettri, Joint Director (Scouts) BSG, India.

 

Day-3:  Role of the Young People in Implementation of SDGs

 

The 3rd Day Webinar was anchored by Mr K.V. Deepak Kumar, Tamilnadu and Mr.Ch. Vikash, Assam.  Webinar was started with General Salute to the Chief Guest followed by the BSG Prayer. Welcome Speech was presented by Mrs. M.N. Machamma, Dy. Director (Guides) BSG. Dr. J.C. Mohanty, IAS, International Commissioner (Scout), BS&G cum Additional Chief Secretary, Govt. of Rajasthan was the Chief Guest of the 3rd Day Webinar. Resource Person was Ms. Neha Shaw, Director cum CEO, Dame Earl LLP, Co-Founder and Board of Director YSI.

Dr. J.C Mohanty, IAS addressed the webinar and urge the participants to understand their role in implementing the SDGs at local level, motives to be cleared, alternative is to be opted, and every individual should select 2-3 SDGs out of 17 to do something to change the life of the people.

Resource Person Ms Neha Shaw presented the Webinar on the topic Role of the Young People in Implementation of SDGs. The Sessions were divided into the sections i.e. Understanding, Prioritization & Measurement. Understanding the Critical Thinkers, Change Makers, Innovators, Communicators & Leaders were on the first section.

Priority of SDGs were briefly delivered in the following matter like Analyze,  Ideate &  Implement practically.

It was followed by the quiz on the slido.com by Mr. Satyajit Chaterjee. Presentation on the project report were present by Ms. Dimpy Talukdhar, Assam and Mr. Pradeep Kumar Pradhan, Odisha.

Ms Himanshi from NHQ presented on the U-Report, its procedure to use as messenger, features and benefits in detail. It was a wonderful session for the new users as U-Reporter.

The 3rd Day Webinar was adjourned with the proposed of Vote of Thanks by Mr. Aroop Sarkar, Dy Director, Boy Programme( Scout), NHQ.
