Dalaw Turo

Dalaw Turo

A two hour seminar with 87 participants from Marikina Science High School held by personnels from the Department Of Environment and Natural Resources. Dalaw-Turo aims to increase the knowledge of students about the state of the environment in the National Capital Region and to broaden their involvement and participation in the campaign of environmental conservation and sustainable development. Students get to learn the environmental issues in the Manila Bay, what are its causes and how the government deals with it. Practical ways of preventing and lessening its effects like the 3r are discussed and also the project and management criterion: SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and time-bound).

The whole duration of the activity included: A presentation of the Manila Bay and the 3 river systems connected to it, the issues and its cause and effects on the surrounding places and how to deal with it as a student and a responsible citizen. Through all of these, we hope that we have shared messages and information about our environment and how to conserve and protect them for the next generation.
