Cyclone Belal Cleanup Success

In summertime, Mauritius typically experiences tropical cyclones. However, in the year 2024, the island encountered a particularly destructive cyclone named Belal, causing significant damage to both infrastructure and natural landscapes. As protector of the environment, we, as scouts, took proactive measures to address the aftermath. Consequently, we organized a coastal cleanup initiative in the capital city
For this endeavor, we collaborated with local communities and specialized environmental NGOs dedicated to cleaning initiatives.
As protectors of the environment, it is crucial to take tangible steps to address the aftermath of such events. Our coastal cleanup initiative demonstrated the importance of actively engaging in environmental conservation efforts. We also found that waste that people throw in the environment, it is return back to us in a certain way
