Creating a Healthy Environment
The need to address concerns raleted to environmental pollution has inspired me to start a clean up campaign in the community to empower communities to clean up , fix up and conserve their environment themselves.
Led by scout masters and troop leader, and few members of the public, a group comprising around 62 Nazhoen scouts of Shaba HSS have started a large-scale cleaning campaign covering almost all the local areas (specifically Shaba village) We mainly focused on non-degradable wastes such as plastics, and also helped clean drains that run by the road sides.
The efforts of the Scout's paid off as more than 100Kgs of wastes were collected and segregated, which were then transported and dumped at the dumping area. From organizing litter-picking events to promoting waste segregation, scouts have played a vital role in making these campaigns a resounding success. The contribution has been instrumental in raising awareness about the importance of proper waste management and the impact of littering on our ecosystem.
Cleaning campaign can foster a sense of community and teamwork. By working together towards a common goal, volunteers can build relationships and a sense of camaraderie. This can lead to a more cohesive and connected community, which can have long-term benefits for community.
