On the 24-27 September 2015 a traditional autumn camp for the scouts “Cottonland” was held in Bilasuvar region. This camp was organized by the initiative of the Association of the Scouts of Azerbaijan and the scout group of Bilasuvar region, “Mubarizlar”. The main goal of the camp was to train scout patrols to better understand the importance of such activities as being cook and on duty, increase the interest in scouting in Bilasuvar region by attracting active scouts from other regions, propagating our national traditions as well as scouting traditions, supporting the process of formation and development of scout groups all over Azerbaijan, efficiently spend the holiday. During the camp scouts had trainings about types of fire, fishing and how to cook fish, picking up cotton, about the national games played by our ancestors in the past etc. The camp in which the scouts of 11-17 age group took part will have a great effect on the development of scouting in the region and on how to spend leisure time in an effective way. Newly organized “Mowgli” scouts of 6-11 age group also participated in the camp for the first time. ... Huseyn Huseynov...
