COMMUNITY SERVICE

Myself Krishna Kumar Dubey, Rajyapuraskar Rover of Santragachi South Group, South Eastern Railway BS&G. Our group served community service for 87days continue..( FROM 5th APRIL to 30th JUNE ).and I took part for 70 days Service....I was very happy to be a part of this Service .... SERVICE DETAILS GIVEN BELOW Our humble efforts to serve the needy by providing awareness, essential masks and food to the poor started soon after the lockdown was declared by our Honorable Prime Minister. After serving the community for last 87 days, with a happy note, we end our long journey as our country. Our Scouts strongly believe in empathy and solidarity and feel that our humble efforts in providing around 30 Thousand (Approx) meals could make some difference in the life of the needy in these challenging times. As the country opens up slowly, we wish all the people to have better days. While many of us are working from home, catching up on the latest shows, spending quality time with our family, at the comfort of our homes during this lockdown, there are also many people who aren’t as fortunate. There are people out there who don’t have a roof above their heads and can’t afford freshly cooked meals even once a day; their earnings have taken a massive drop and this lockdown has ended up being a very stressful time for them. But here’s where you and I can make a difference and bring a smile on their faces during this trying time. Here We members of the Santragachi South Group BS&G  provided meals and medicines to the needy during this lockdown period. You can lend a helping hand by contributing to their cause in the form of donations of volunteer work. A little help goes a long way. In India, the poor are always an afterthought. It seems strange, given that it is a country where millions of people live in extreme poverty, but that is how things have always been. And, it wasn't any different on Tuesday night either, when the Indian government announced a nationwide lockdown The decision, although necessary, wasn't inclusive of many marginalised sections of the society like daily wage labourers, the homeless population, beggars, slum-dwellers, several low-income groups as well as the elderlies who live alone. All these days hundreds of like minded and kindhearted people supported us in every way possible. The Scouts thank all of them for their humane efforts. We wish to stand together whenever the community and the country need all members have once again rendered our service in similar manner. Day by day the people in need are increasing in huge numbers. As the strength of these people are increasing, we are more committed towards such service. The service is for mankind. We have never taken any photographs with any other intention but one day after years long such photographs will remain as history. Our young scouts and guides, cubs and bulbuls will learn from such pictorial representations one day that there was a devastating virus which attacked normal life. God is there with us in all our actions which is only service...service and service to mankind. Scout Members are continuing services with the lockdown.Precautions are also taken by using Infrared Thermal Testing at the spot. We members have made sure that no one is left of hunger. We have taken all health considerations into account. Also distributed 50 numbers mask everyday. The members are more and more committed to help the needy despite of the fact the area is under Red zone.It is also ensured that photographs of food distribution is not being uploaded. But the activities of our members are being presented in the form of photographs by which many other volunteers are joining in huge nos. This shows that our efforts are successfully being implemented which in turn is helping the needy class of our society. We also provide baby food to some needy people.... very difficult days when not only the Scouts had to face threatening of Corona looming over hungry and poor but also the curse of cyclone Ampan. Ampan did havoc all around Santragachi, breaking trees, blocking roads, supplies and destroying small huts all around especially the adjacent slums. Today the need to stand beside the needy has become more important as many people who had a shelter to hide till yesterday are standing under open sky without any resources. Our Scouts therefore, came out with more determination and efforts to support everyone. Because of the infrastructural damages and disruption in power and water supplies. we could not cook and provide cooked food to all. But our dedicated volunteers defied all odds and provided dry foods like breads and Laddu to every needy person and families affected both by Corona lockdown and Cyclone Ampan. More power to Scouts, more power to solidarity. Railway Employee Scout Members are still continuing services in the lockdown situation. Today people were provided with meals as usual. Precautions are also taken by using Infrared Thermal Testing devices. We have taken all health considerations into account. Masks are being distributed everyday. It is rather heartening to see that more and more such social units are inspired by the way our members are putting their effort. Attached Some links and photos of the above mentioned Service..
