Community Service is an important component of Community Based Scouts (CBS) in Bhutan for many reasons. Taking part and volunteering in community development projects teaches compassion and understanding. A team of 80 BSA and CBS members from Thimphu and Paro came together to provide voluntary services during the renovation of "Zangto Pelri Lhakhang", old monastery located above the 8th Century Monastery, Taktsang Monastery. The team volunteered for four days. The team had to walk up the cliff for three hours to reach the destination. it was a difficult walk since the Monastery is located 3120 meters above the sea level. CBS Scouts carried stones, wood and other construction materials to the construction site. it was once in lifetime opportunity for all.
