Coastal Care for a Greener Tomorrow

This project is driven by the urgent need to protect coastal ecosystems and reduce marine pollution through active community involvement. Engaging scouts and adult leaders in cleanup and recycling activities highlights practical solutions like repurposing plastic waste into planting pots, promoting both environmental education and food sustainability. It also fosters leadership and teamwork, empowering participants to contribute to climate action and sustainable practices in their communities.

Scouts, community leaders, parents, and external partners came together with a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, coordinating efforts to collect and segregate 299 kilos of coastal waste. Plastic bottles were carefully saved for repurposing into urban gardening pots, turning trash into valuable resources. This collaborative effort not only restored the shoreline’s beauty but also inspired youth empowerment and a strong sense of community-driven sustainability.

This project highlighted the importance of collective effort and proper waste management in protecting coastal environments. Participants learned how segregating and repurposing plastic waste can contribute to sustainability and support urban gardening initiatives. It also reinforced the value of community collaboration in driving meaningful environmental action.
