Climate Change Week Celebration - Tree Planting

Our Staff and Students celebrated the Climate Change Week where students, teachers planted more than 200 plants on the 29th September 2017 in the school compound. 35 kindergarten students, 200 primary students and 15 staff participated. National Climate Change week is celebrated in may places. Theme for climate change in Northen Fiji is "Accelerating Climate Activities for a Resilient Fiji" Our theme for Climate Change awareness week is "Leadership, Action & Cop 23". Climate change is real. Climate change has caused devastation in may villages through rising sea level and fierce storming. We must act to reduce carbon pollution and increase clean energy production. Plant a tree to save the plan. I urge you to plant more trees to lessen. Effects of climate change:- -Pot plants can be replanted. Climate change is recognised as a key driver of disasters. 175 million children are likely to be affected due to climate change Impact of climate change is visible across all provinces in Fiji. Fijian villages in central division are being in understate with rising sea level. Bigger storms is a reality due to climate change. Climate has affected villages in Tailevu, the Rewa Delta and coastal villages of Serua in the form of salt water intrusion and river bank erosion. Vinaka Zibran Isa Ali MoP Coordinator
