CleanUp Australia 2017 - Somerton Beach South Australia. Helping our environment for future generations
Somerton Park Sea Scouts's Cub Scout section yearly removal of rubbish from Somerton Beach as part of our community engagement and commitment to the environment. All in all we managed to collect about 4 large garbage bags and one bag of recycling products from our beach.
The Cubs of Somerton Park Sea Scouts exemplified the commitment all Australian Scouts should show to the care for our environment and they did their best to collect all they could. We look forward to planting trees later in the year with LandCare Australia for National Tree Day.
A number of the cubs in my pack expressed a desire to help clean up the beach during a pack council and as such I took it upon my self to organise a site for them through the CleanUp Australia day event website.
I am very proud of the effort they put in. No one got injured and we put many smiles on many beach goers faces.
