Clean our Local Fishing Port after a Big Typhoon (Japan)

Clean our Local Fishing Port after a Big Typhoon (Japan)

Following the coastal clean-up on August 25, we conducted a "Scouting Day" project to clean up garbage washed up at Hiratsuka New Port following Typhoon No. 15.

Since we are close to the sea, we do this cleaning service every year.

Especially this time, there was a typhoon and a lot of garbage was scattered. The scouts have gathered and sorted out the types of waste (i.e. PET bottles, empty cans, plastic waste, wood chips, bamboo, straw, etc.).

A person from the local city government also helped with the cleanup.

On Saturdays and Sundays, a lot of fishermen come to the port to enjoy family fishing, so the scouts were very proud to keep the beautiful local community and had a feeling of accomplishment.
