Celestial Bath of the Deities
Every year, the bathing festival of Lord Jagannath is celebrated with great fanfare. Lakhs of devotees participate in it. To manage the crowd, the Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides organizes service camps in consultation with the district administration of Puri. Like every year, the Service Camp was organized this year as well.
80nos. of Rovers & Rangers from different parts of Odisha reported at BALAGANDI HIGH SCHOOL, PURI. on 03.06.2023. After arrival, they were divided into groups and allotted different duties such as Distribution of Water, carrying out the casualty, sprinkling water, Cleaning the area, controlling the public rush, etc. The very next moment all of them started cleaning the area before getting ready for the next day. They started rendering their services with all enthusiasm.
The great service done by the rovers was very impressive. As ‘discipline’ was their keyword, the massive crowd could have an easy DARSHAN of the deities. They could also get drinking water, feel cool by the sprinkled water, and also they could get medical aid. They were thankful to scouting. Media also highlighted this noble job.
It was learned from the event that we can get success if proper preparation and discipline are there.
