International Day of Yoga celebrated by the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Southern Region in a grand manner with 03 days Regional Level Yoga Fest at Shanthigrugha , State Headquarters, Karnataka State BSG, Bangalore. The event was hosted by the Karnataka State BSG. 74 participants from the Regional States viz - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry, Southern Railway, South Central Railway, South Western Railway and Telangana has participated in the Yoga Fest. By participating 100 Scouts & Guides from Bangalore City make the event grand one. Hon'ble Mr. Justice H. N. Nagamohan Das, Retd. Judge of Karnataka High Court inaugurated the Yoga Fest of Southern Region, BSG at 16:00 hrs. on 20th June 2016 at Kondaji Basappa Auditorium at Shanthigruha. Mr. N. S. Megharikh IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bangalore city witness the auspicious occasion. IDY celebrate with practicing Yoga by Scouts & Guides followed by making Human Chain for awareness of the public at Palace Road, Bangalore. The Valedictory Function of the Yoga Fest bless by Shri K. Ananda, Director of Public Instruction, Primary Education, Karnataka State and Smt. Philomina Lobo, Director of Public Instruction, Higher Education, Karnataka. A group of experts under the leadership of Ms. Veena of the Rishi Samskruti Vidya Kendra, Bangalore (Siddha Samadhi Yoga) supported the whole events providing their kind support in all the 03 days. During the Yoga Fest apart from Scouts & Guides regular activities Peace initiation by WOSM (MoP), WAGGGS Global Project Surf Smart, Swachh Bharat etc also conducted. A film on Yoga - "YOG - JEEVAN KI SAMPOORNTA" supplied by the Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India displayed in evening. An input session was deliver by Ms. Revathi. B, Karnataka about Isha Yoga. Eagle Scout of BSA, USA Shri Mukund Mohan Kuntimad has participated in the Event. Ms. Meghana S Belavadi, Chair of the National Youth Committee, BSG and State Youth Committee, Karnataka State BSG present in the closing ceremony of the event. Hon'ble State Chief Commissioner, Karnataka State BSG Shri P G R Sindhiya was present in all the important programme during the events. In the Closing ceremony Mr. Sindhiya inspire the Scouts & Guides to building Nation and create a better world as a messenger of peace in his blessing speech.
