BTCKL-2021-007 ICT Support
The Basic Training Course for Kawan Leaders is an in-person training that aims to develop the fundamentals of Adult Leaders in the KAB sectional program of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines. Due to the health restrictions during this pandemic, the training was conducted online. Transitioning into the online setup, the Rover Scouts of the Lualu Rover Circle 9 decided to help as ICT Support to deliver optimized training with minimal to no technical issues while ensuring their online security.
The Rover Scouts of Lualu Rover Circle 9 served as ICT Support in the Basic Training Course for Kawan Leaders at Pampanga, Philippines. As ICT Staff, the Rover Scouts prepared and facilitated the Zoom for session discussions and Padlet for collaborative outputs of the trainees. Furthermore, the Rover Scouts ensured the online security of the participants, assisted in discussants' presentations, created evaluations, documentation, and certifications, and other logistics and technical matters.
The Basic Training Course for Kawan Leaders had 50 participants (both training staff and trainees). With the successful accomplishments of assigned duties and responsibilities, the Rover Scouts helped to provide a quality training for the Kawan Leaders of Pampanga with minimal technical issues. The participants greatly learned (with active participation) from the discussions of different fundamentals of the KAB Scouting of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.
The Rover Scouts learned better online management, facilitation, and communication. The service helped the Rover Scouts better understand online and offline applications to assist them in their future volunteer services or professional careers. The service could be further improved by having better laptops and internet services and by having ICT trainings. Nevertheless, the Rover Scouts were able to control the lags and connection problems encountered through better task management.
