BSP community-based project: PROJECT OK KA
My motivation for this project was the scout oath "to help other people at all times-", helping other people is an attribute one could gladly possess. For me, helping others is deeply rooted in my heart and always will be.
The project was held in Barangay Quesban Elementary School, Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines. We first started the program with an introduction by one of my fellow scouts, she made a speech about the project that will be held, followed by the messengers of peace dance. Then the scouts made a speech, shortly after that, vitamin supplements are distributed. After a period of time, the outfit advisor made a speech, and the program ended with a scout benediction.
19 families benefited from the project, mostly the children of the families benefited from the vitamin supplements we distributed, and families didn't have to buy vitamins anymore and they can use their moneys for other necessities.
We learned that, in order to help the community, we need passion and volunteerism, to help others with passion will have results much better compared to when you're being forced to, same with the volunteerism.
