Bloemfontein East District organized a 3 days’ workshop on recycling to educate the community. They invited community members and a nearby school to the workshop. This project was led by William Papane. The Group together with volunteers developed an action plan program, which included collecting waste, cleaning, counting it as well as making items that could be sold. With the waste collected the Group managed to promote entrepreneur skills through recycling, they created and made arts, crafts and other income generating items. Amongst others, they also created container gardens, to use a herb gardens and crops created from the organic gardens will be sold. All the waste that was not needed, the Group managed to have it dropped at the recycling drop off centres.
