Biodegradable film for preserving fruits

Food waste, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, a significant portion of global fruit production is lost or wasted annually
With that in mind, we developed a biodegradable film to extend the shelf life of fruits and vegetables. To develop the biodegradable film, we used a combination of natural and accessible ingredients.
This project shows that sustainable solutions can be developed using simple, low-cost materials. If widely adopted, it could help reduce food waste and plastic packaging in markets, fairs, and industries. We believe small initiatives like this can make a big difference, encouraging more responsible consumption
