BHARATHI SCOUTS AND GUIDES GROUP, Annual camp.
Annual Camp at Tonakela, Three days of enjoyment and learning. Around 30 scouts, guides cubs and Bulbuls with Rovers and rangers assembled in Hindu Higher Secondary School early in the morning for this year’s annual camp which was held at Avadi, Tonakela. The camp started on 10th February with around 160 campers and 15 organizers. The camp registration
was followed by patrol division, tent allotment and flag break. In the noon an informative briefing was held on camp rules and uniform regulations for scouts and guides were also discussed. Before lunch the campers were made to participate in few games organised by the camp director. The campers thoroughly enjoyed few games which were conducted during the STA for Cubs, bulbuls, scout and guides. A session on basic 7 knots followed during which scouts and guides were taught to about the uses of knot and were given ideas for gadgets. After a tea break, evening games were conducted. The whole
campsite enjoyed the evening games thoroughly and rovers and rangers gave their best to give full fun filled games to campers. By the time, at 1800 hrs flag was lowered and after evening games there was instructions for campfire and red
flower show. They were given 1 hour preparation time for campfire and it was followed by dinner. After dinner a campfire was lit in which all patrols did their best to showcase their talents. The next day started with rouse call at 0530 hrs and started with B.P six exercises. The instructor explained BP six and its uses with a demonstration. This was followed by Morning inspection carried out by rovers and rangers during which they checked each tent for cleanliness, presentation, drill, gadgets and uniform. The scouts, guides, Cubs and Bulbuls were encouraged to show more gadgets. After breakfast STA sessions were held which the campers enjoyed a lot. They actively participated and had fun. Later another small session on adventurous activities was taken by senior scout which was an interesting session that everyone enjoyed. It was the most awaited session in the second day of the camp. There was a refreshing juice break followed by adventure activities. In the evening games were held which the students thoroughly enjoyed. It was followed by instructions for grand
campfire. The Grand camp fire was started and it was declared by the cub master of D.A.V public school. After the campfire, there was an interesting night game for campers conducted by camp director. The most adventurous day came to an end peacefully. The third day started with rouse call at 0530 hrs the campers were tested on B.P six exercise and their
uses. The rest of the day ensued similar to the previous two days. Later in the day, a treasure hunt was conducted by rovers and rangers where the campers were riddled with puzzles, riddles and clues. After this, the camp director gave instructions for Talentora activities. After lunch, the valedictory ceremony, which is the most awaited moment for the campers was organised. The prizes were distributed and campers were encouraged for the upcoming camps and events.
