Better Environment leads to Better Education

We were motivated by the unpleasant scenery that was present in the school when I first visited the school. There were waste everywhere due to the school having no place to throw their waste. On top of that, the walls of the buildings in the school were decolourised after not being painted for a while, disrupting the beauty of the school. I conducted this project to change this situation and make sure that the students of the school have a pleasant environment to pursue their studies.
The project took place on the 28th of May 2023 at a school called Roman Catholic School in an area called Ratmalana. I started off by cleaning the school and removing all the current waste which was present. Then me and my fellow scouts painted the decolourised walls in the school with their respective colour. Finally I fixed a meal mesh, which is used as garbage pits, so the students and the staff of the school can dispose their waste to one area and not disrupt the beauty of the school.
This project will impact the students of the school as well as the staff of the school. The beauty of the school will increase due to the new know place to dispose waste, improving the pleasantness of the school. The students will have a safe and pleasant environment to learn and the staff of the school will have a pleasant environment to teach the future generation.
When installing garbage pits, it's very important that you chose a place that is protected from the rain, or just simply build a shelter on top of the pits. Use your resources efficiently and well planned. Helping the community is the best feeling that you can have and seeing how many people you've affected by your work is astounding.
