Beach cleanup

One of our greatest natural resources has become a garbage dump—and the results are taking a toll on human and marine health. Billions of pounds of pollution end up in our oceans each year, and the majority of it comes from human activities along the coastlines and inland. Understanding the devastating effects of pollution on our beaches is the first step to fixing the problem. Beach pollution is any harmful substance that contaminates our coasts from plastic, trash, and litter.
Our Scouts BSA troop spent weeks planning a weekend campout at our local beach community where we spent hours scouring the beach, jetties and grounds to litter.
The residents of Quintana, Texas, and its many daily visitors benefited from having a safer, cleaner environment in which to fish, walk and generally enjoy.
All humans all across the globe need to use as little single-use plastic as possible!
