Beach Camping - Baththalangunduwa

As a result of the covid 9 pandemic, most of our activities were halted and even scouting. Therefore, in order to have a fresh start again, the Scout group of Royal International School organized a one night camp at the beautiful island in Kalpitiya named Baththalangundu. And also, to give the experience of beach camping to our Scouts.
This project was organized by the Senior Scouts of our Scout group at the Baththalangundu island on 18th & 19th April. This was held with the participation of 27 Scouts along with Scout Masters and Mistresses. A life-saving training was also conducted during this camp by well qualified trainers and also a campfire was held.
This camp gave a novel experience to our Scouts with many adventurous experiences as it was the first beach camp organized by the Scout group. And the Scouts were trained in life saving which made them qualified in another aspect. This also builds their skills, and unity and also developed their leadership qualities.
Through this camp, we learned how to be careful in water sources and also how to help others in water when they are in danger, and also, we learned many things during camping. We were able to develop our skills and leadership qualities during this camp.
