Banda Aceh City's Scout clean up Ulee Lheu beach

Head of the Banda Aceh Scout Movement, Kak Amiruddin S.E MS.i led the cleaning of the mosque and Ulee Lheue Beach on Sunday (11/12/2022) morning.

This activity was attended by hundreds of members of the Scout Movement from a number of schools in the city of Banda Aceh. Social service activity participants cleaned up plastic waste along the road to Ule lheu Port, Baiturrahim Mosque, and the Ule Lheu Port complex as well as a number of coastal destination points in the area.

Therefore, Kak Bakri believes that all parties must contribute and care about the cleanliness of Ulee Lheue Village. This village has a lot of tourism potential which of course can be a revival of the local community's economy.

Kak Bakri is sure that the forerunners of these scouts will continue to give birth to good pioneering and innovation and can be useful not only for its members but can move the community to contribute to protecting the environment, especially the coastal environment and protecting the ecosystem in Banda Aceh.

The Head of the Banda Aceh Scout Movement, Kak Amiruddin said that the mosque and beach clean-up action was one form of the Scout Movement's concern for the region.

He hopes that this action can have a positive effect on members of the Scout Movement in particular and the community in general regarding the importance of protecting the environment.

In this social action, hundreds of Scout members were divided into several teams. They then targeted a number of points in the Ulee Lheue Beach area to collect trash.

The social service action was opened by Acting. Mayor of Banda Aceh, Kak Bakri Siddiq S.E MS.i. on behalf city government of Banda Aceh, Kak Bakri expressed his high appreciation to the Banda Aceh Scout Movement for the activities carried out today.

According to him, this mosque and beach cleaning action is a concrete manifestation of the concern of the Banda Aceh City Scout Movement for the environment, especially for coastal and marine ecosystems. This activity is also a manifestation of the second Dasa Dharma (Scout Law), namely Love for Nature and Compassion for Fellow Humans.

Gampong (village of) Ulee Lheue as one of the mainstay tourist destinations in Banda Aceh City, is a gampong that is included in the 50 best villages for the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) and won second place in the Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment (CHSE) category of the Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) 2022 organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI).
