Govt. Sr. Sec. School, Namthang South Sikkim had organised the World Tourism Day on 27th September, 2014 at School Auditorium , the main objectives of the celebration of the programme was to aware the students and local people on Tourism & Community Development. During the programme there were 103 participants for 6 hours as service team consisted of Resource persons, teachers and students from 10 am to 16:00 pm. It was a mass gathering to witnessed the programme where the no. of local organisation, clubs, panchayat units, students and teachers from different schools, departmental heads, etc. were present on the day. Different Resource Persons highlighted the importance of Tourism and Community Development with special reference to promote the local traditional cultures. to give more emphasis on the theme, students of Tourism & Travel Management had organised the Exhibition cum food Plaza and traditional Fashion Shows as a center of attraction for the Audiences.
