Arundo Eradication at Little Dalton Canyon

Many who live in Southern California during the worst drought in 1,200 years may have heard of the great war on the water siphoning lushes green lawns in our front yards, but what many may not have heard of is our tiny grass's BIG cousin: Arundo Donax. The San Gabriel Mountain Regional Conservancy (SGMRC) has been fighting this invasive reed in the San Gabriel Mountains of CA for over three years now. Learn how Ryan Wong, a scout from Troop 286 based in LA, has helped SGMRC to combat Arundo!
My project was held along the Glendora Mountain Road and in between a switchback. Here are the GPS coordinates: 34°09'58"N 117°51'21"W. It has about a 60° angle slope exceedingly difficult to reach.
The objective of this project was to produce a replicable, ecologically friendly, long-term, and sustainable method of the eradication of Arundo located on steep hillsides.
I have learned a lot about leadership, sustainability, and conservation! I think it would be great if you also learned about my project. Here is the link to my project's website: https://sites.google.com/view/how-to-eradicate-arundo/my-project
