On 1st November 2015, 50+ Scouts along with Senior Scout supervisors and 5 Scout Leaders gathered for a short hike. The actvity was led by Ms Nicole Liew and aided by myself, Jonathan and Ms Kristal Thang. It was a combined activity between 4 troops, notably 9th Petaling, 10th Petaling, 12th Petaling and 17th Petaling. All Scouts gathered at SMK (L) La Salle and were given the final safety and route briefing. Leaders began to head out to the necessary checkpoints and to begin patrolling the hike route to keep track of the Scouts. Throughout the hike, the Scouts will be required to make an report based on checkpoints or timeline to ensure they have enough details throughout their hike. Patrols of 8 members each have separate duties to carry out such as take bearing, weather surveying, map sketching, report writing, evidence collecting, QM, PL and APL. They will have to carry out their jobs while on the move in order to keep up with time. Their route starts at SMK(L) La Salle -> SMK(P) Assunta -> Balai Bomba Seksyen 8 -> Balai Polis Trafik Petaling Jaya -> SK Sri Petaling -> SMK Sultan Abdul Samad. There, they will take a break and cook their lunch for 16km participants while 8km participants have ended their hike. Then, the 16km participants will carry on to Masjid Seksyen 14 -> Dataran 3 Twosquare -> Seapark - Balai Polis SS2 -> SMK Taman Sea. It is proud to announce that all participants completed the hike and received their participation certs. The final stage of the hike is to complete a simple log book consisting of the daily report of the hike.
