77th Course for Assistant Leader Trainers (Scout Wing)
The 77th Course for Assistant Leader Trainers (Scout Wing) was held at National Training Centre, Pachmarhi from 19th-23rd December, 2014. The registration started at 09.00 Hrs and Course started at 15.00 Hrs. with Flag Ceremony continued with Integration Session, formation of Group, course objectives.
There were 80 participants from 16 states: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Kendriya Vidhayalaya Sangthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra-3, NVS-1, Rajasthan-8, Tamilnadu-3, Uttar Pradesh-5, Uttrakhand-3 and 19 participants from Nepal Scouts.
The Course divided in two group titled as “A” and “B”. Mr. Arup Sarkar, Assistant Director Northern Region was the Leader of the Course for Group “A” and Mr. Smriti Sourabh Ray, Assistant Director Eastern Region, was Leader of the Course of “B” ably assisted by Mr. Gireesh G. K., LT (S) & SOC (S) of Kerala, Mr. Ravi Nandan Bahnot LT(S) former State Organising Commissioner (S) Rajasthan and Mr. Manoj Nair. State Organising Commissioner (S) Central Railway, Mr. Ashok Mohapatra, ROC (S)/EM. Mr. Pradip Tiwari, Teacher, KVS has delivered lecture on Principles of Communication. Dr. K. Sukumara, Jt. Director (Scouts) was the Course Director.
The following session were dealt during the course – What is Scouting, Fundamentals of Bharat Scouts and Guides, Role, Function and Skills of Trainers, Formulation of Objectives, Designing a Course Programme, World Adult Resource Policy, Training Administration, Obtaining and Using Resources, Six Areas of Training, Group Dynamics, Creating Learning Experience during a Course, Principles of Communication, and Human Relation etc. Micro Teaching, Lesson Demonstration, written test, was other important topics.
Duty Change, Morning Inspection, Flag Ceremony, Tent and Layout & Preparation of Gadgets, Drill and March Past, Games were conducted every day. Camp Fire, All Faiths, Prayer, B. P. Six Exercise were demonstrated during the Course. The Aim of the Course was to make them better LOCs.
On 22nd December, 2014 at 19.00 Hrs. Grand Camp Fire was organised. Participants of 3 specialized courses along with staff also joined. Dr. K. Sukumara, Jt. Director (Scouts) was the Chief Guest. All the participants have demonstrated their talents.
On 23rd December, 2014, All Faiths Prayer was conducted in the morning. After completing all the formalities the course came to end before lunch by lowering Flag and singing National Anthem. In-spite of cold weather, the participants enjoyed the course experience.
