
59th Jamboree-On--The-Air - 20th Jamboree-On-The-Internet 2016
PROGRAM OF ACTIVITIES
The activities were divided in to two (2) major parts, to wit:
1. Jamboree-On-The-Air (JOTA)
2. Jamboree-On-The-Internet (JOTI)
JAMBOREE-ON-THE-AIR
The JOTA was divided into four bases, these are:
1. Radio Amateur Orientation (Rules and Regulations by the National Telecommunication Commission)
2. Semaphore Signalling
3. Morse Coding
4. Actual Hand-On HF Radio Transceiver and Communication (QSO with different Local Councils and National Scout Organization (NSO))
Radio Amateur Orientation (Rules and Regulations) – This activity was handled by PARA (Batangas) and COMPASS (National Office). The activity aims to inform Scouts and Adult Leaders about the existing rules and regulations pertaining in handling and owning a radio transceiver. They will also discuss the importance of radio communications especially with regards to emergency situation and cases. They will also be encourage to learn more and be a license amateur radio operators and challenge them to take the examination by the National Telecommunication Commission.
Semaphore. This said activity was handled by (Batangas Council). Scouts were taught the proper use of signaling using the red and white cloth in emergencies.
Morse Code. This activity was handled by PARA and COMPASS. An instrument that uses distress signals in a dit-dat manner.
Scouts and even Adult Leaders experience an actual Hands-On performance in using the HF Radio transceiver to communicate and talked to Scouts locally and internationally using the said HF Radio Transceiver.

JAMBORE-ON-THE-INTERNET
The JOTI was divided into 3 bases, to wit:
1. Basic Computer Orientation and information
2. Actual Hands-On
3. Registration to www.scout.org and www.scout/jj2016
Basic Computer Orientation and information. The National Office Staff from Batangas and National handled the said activity as well as the JOTI activity. They taught Scouts on how to get registered in the www.scout.org and browse from there the information and how to get in touch with Scouts from different NSOs.
International Contacts: Japan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, US, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Switzerland, Panama, Chile and United Kingdom
OTHERS
To lessen the burdens from each main activities, the National Office Staff formulate different activities that would assist and make use of the time. These activities are:
1. Exhibit – (national office) make use of the exhibit as one of the bases in the national office.
2. Bandaging – (national office) Scouts explore and understand bandaging as a skill in emergency and disaster training.
3. Poster Making – (national and batangas) formulated poster making as an avenue to create and imagine the beauty of Peace and express it in drawing.
4. Origami – (batangas) we make use of creating a crane and a butterfly using different color papers
5. Planet Alignment – (batangas) a networking activity that uses balls, rings and strings to express different communications and cooperation a Scouts would deal during a given activity and job task.
each Scout earns 3 Merit badges, these are: Radio, Signalling and Computer
with a rough estimate of 2,425 Scouts attended the event in at least 18 Local Councils... estimate
