4R's [Activity-2 CLOTH BANK]

By growing awareness and gaining an understanding of the environmental impacts we have on our planet, we can be better informed of where and how to act. A lack of awareness and responsibility has all added up to polluted land, sea and air. From a lack of consideration of the environment in the way we manage waste to mass-producing throw-away items to keep up with demand. Thankfully things are changing and understanding the importance of the 4R's can certainly help us inform our choices. By increasing our sustainability in the home and better managing our waste we can all make a concerted difference. Especially if we are to all play a role in helping keep our oceans free from plastic waste and reducing our consumption of needless items that can pollute our environment once disposed of. The 4R's make for a simple yet effective way to help us consider the items that we buy, use and dispose of. When we choose to stop and think about each of the 4R's it helps us to consider a number of important aspects related to our consumption. From what we buy, to how we can reduce, to what can be reused and how we eventually get rid of it. If we are to make a difference to the environment then now is the time to identify the importance of the 4R's. Activity-2 CLOTHE BANK Background Many people just throw their old clothes away Old pair of jeans which one no longer fits in, an ancient sweater with some wool pulled off, a ragged t-shirt and all such clothing we abandon and move up to the latest fashion. You might want to donate, but the problem is how to find people who need such clothes? The basic objective of this Cloth bank is simple - it collects clothes from people who no longer need them, and distributes these clothes to the needy. And also Refurbishes and put it on use. It's a brilliant idea and leaves one wondering as to why such an idea was not already implemented. The cloth bank would be good for donors as well because while disposing their old clothes they would be doing charity by ensuring that these clothes reach the needy and poor people free of cost. #scouts #ScoutsRecycleGarments #bsgindia
