47 As One Peace Initiative
In our country Kenya, we're approaching an electioneering season. This therefore motivated us to undertake this project aiming at creating, promoting and preaching peace within the 47 diverse communities in Kenya. I have been dreaming in a country where each and every individual is free to each other, a united peaceful country full of love, and prosperity. A country that focuses on the well being of its people, where tribalism, race, colour, sex, gender, and political class cuts no one at times
It was implemented in Kenya, Kisii University. We first had a dialogue for peace training and later had a Messenger of peace workshop. After the trainings we incorporated the entire school, had a band procession from Kisii University to Kisii town and engaged the local communities in ensuring that they do have a peaceful relation with each other. We had peaceful talks with them and they also shared their views about the fourth coming elections in August.
This project inspired about 3,000 Kisii University students whom volunteered to be ambassadors of peace and promised to always involve and urge their families, friends and neighbours to always live peacefully with one another.
It also gave light to atmost 2,000 the local communities, security, police men and other social workers whom supported us and gave their views and expectations on how they would want the fourth coming elections to be conducted.
This project is an inspiration to me, my friends, fellow scouts and the community around at large.
It has really impacted my fellow students from Kisii University, they are united and live a common goal of love and supporting each other as much as the economy is really a blow unto them. All in all humanity, service and good relation is highly depicted.
