2SW make Easter bunnies to show they care

PATCH strives to help all child survivors of sexual abuse find hope and healing. It is the only organisation that specialises in the Prevention and Treatment of child sexual abuse in the Helderberg area of Cape Town, South Africa. With Easter coming up the Cubs decided to give children who live in poverty a small gift to help them smile and feel valued. This aids is bettering their mental health and well-being.
The Cubs at 2nd Somerset West learnt about kindness, tying into the National Challenge "health and well-being". The Cubs were asked to bring a soap and Easter eggs to include in their gift for children supported by PATCH. During the Friday meeting the Cubs and Adult Volunteers folded face cloths into "bunnies", each with a soap and an Easter egg hidden inside. Akela then added ribbons to the bunnies and went to deliver them to PATCH on behalf of the Cubs.
The Cubs learnt what PATCH does, and were reminded of their own personal safety and behaviours, as well as speaking out to adults you trust when in need. The Cubs learnt new practical skills when making the bunnies using their fine motor skills.
