2026 massive cleaning campaign

We should work together to keep our society clean, healthy, and environmentally friendly. By properly managing waste, avoiding pollution, planting trees, and keeping our surroundings clean, we can protect nature and create a safer and healthier place for everyone.

From 15th January to 5th February, under Phuentsholing Thromde, we carried out our initiative “Champion for Nature” with 7 Scout Leaders and 12 Scout Volunteers to celebrate the birthday of Prince Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck. We cleaned riverbanks and roadside areas, collected and segregated bottles, cans, and metals for recycling, and used the funds raised to provide tea and biscuits to elderly people at Zangto Pelri Lhakhang. Through this initiative, we promoted environmental conservation, recycling, and community service, while inspiring others to care for both nature and the community.

The initiative helped keep riverbanks and roadside areas clean, while recycling waste reduced pollution and generated funds for community service. It also brought Scouts together through teamwork, encouraged responsible waste management, and provided an opportunity to show care and respect for elderly people in the community.

The lessons I learned are that teamwork makes the dream work, waste can be turned into valuable resources, and it is possible to create a clean and healthy society when everyone takes responsibility and works together.
