2020 Scout Week

Scout Week is a 7-day activity designed to introduce Scouting to every student in my high school. In the year 2020, my school Kuen Cheng High School has started initiating the "Student's Self-Learning Programme". This inspired me to share the fun and activities I have in my scout activities.
The Scout Week project was held in Kuen Cheng High School, Malaysia. We planned several activities, such as scout's camping exhibition, DIY rope bracelets, traditional Kadazan Bamboo dance, talks on basic survival, and scout history sharing sessions. In order to publicize our events, every scout member went to different classes in our school to share posters and gave small speeches to attract potential participants. We also celebrated Baden Powell Day together with our teachers students!
In this project, we have roughly achieved the participation of 1800 students and teachers. After working meticulously for weeks, we have succeeded in spreading the warmth and spirit of scouting. Together, we have broken the stereotypes in school that scouting is only about knots and camping, we can do so much more!
Through this project, I have learnt the importance of solidarity and teamwork. Most importantly, I have realized what a scouting spirit can bring to a scouting troop. When I stayed back at school for hours or prepared PowerPoint for speeches, I knew that I wasn't doing them alone. I had my brothers and comrades fighting alongside with me. Together, we faced and trampled our adversities and succeeded in completing our Scout Week project.
