2019 Coastal Cleanups at Ming-Hu Senior Scouts Brownsea Camp
On July 13-14 2019, Senior Scout Troop 195 from Taipei, Taiwan had a nice camping at Fulong Beach, New Taipei City. During the days, they accomplished the MOP project which was to clean up the beach that they spent a night with.
Back to the May, a group of Senior Scouts planned for the Brownsea Camp, and decided to do beach cleanups as a part of the program. Brownsea Camp is an annual big thing in our troop which is a program designed for Scouts by Senior Scouts. For the MOP project, they designed several courses such as natural observation, a brief introduction to MOP, reflection on human activities in environment, and beach cleanups.
Through these courses and actions, not only the Scouts but also the program planners, Senior Scouts got inspired by the project. They realized that littering can cause a serious problem to our coasts and beaches and promised to keep their trash safely in the trash can in their daily lives.
