1st Rivertrail River clean up
The river that borders our Beautiful hall, unfortunately, there was major rainfall that ended up flooding the river, the bank of the river got flooded with litter, this part of the river is next to a pathway which people ride their bikes and walk their dogs, it helped take the area back to its natural beauty
I organized a patrol activity which contained 8 people, we spent 6 hours cleaning up the stretch of riverbank, we collected 19 bags of rubbish and finished off the afternoon with a casual Braai
There are a lot of people who use this stretch of the river, there is a local church that uses one of the clearings by the river and there are a few dog walkers and bike riders.
We learnt that even as a small group we can make a big impact on the world and with only a little bit of planning we can help clear the community of litter
