1st Howick Cubs - Public Area Litter Clean Up

Cleaning up the environment , making a difference in the community, teaching cubs to contribute to society, making the cubs feel proud that they are helping their community.
Howick Town, KZN. Collected litter from green areas around the public swimming pool and public sport field. Al cubs given rubber gloves and black bin bags to pick up litter. Parents and leaders assisted cubs. The litter collected was immediately taken to the dump.
The aesthetics and beauty of the green areas surrounding the public parks, swimming pool and sports field were improved. The pollution introduced by the litter within these natural areas and water ways was reduced. Hundreds of residents who drive through the area or make use of the facilities benefitted from a cleaner, healthier and more beautiful environment.
We under-estimated the amount of litter hiding within the greenery and waterways. next time we would take an excess of refuse bags, and have a large cargo vehicle or trailer to carry it away.
