1st Blaauwberg Sea Scout Cubs Litter Clean Up

Beaches in south africa, especially Blouberg, are heavily polluted with single use plastics and other trash. South Africa has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world and we are passionate about keeping them clean for wildlife and the people whom enjoy them.
The project was a district based project. It involved walking along a stretch of beach in Blouberg from 09h00 and picking up any waste and trash that was observed. 7 cubs and 6 adult helpers from 1st Blaauwberg took part in the clean-up.
More than 10 full trash bags were discarded after the clean-up. This was collected in a relatively small stretch of beach.
Cubs learnt the value of recycling and not littering. They also gained an understanding of protecting our natural heritage.
