Young People Leading the Pragathi Path Pavilion !
The Diamond Jubilee Jamboree was organized with the objective of commemorating and celebrating, the 75 glorious years, marking the unification of all the different national scout associations within the country to constitute the formulation of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. The term Pragathi Path translates to ‘The Path of Progress and Holistic Development’ while reflecting and signifying the revised youth programme that has been developed by the Bharat Scouts and Guides.
With the tagline One Program-One Journey for the entire nation, it ensures uniformity and non-differentiation while transcending all known inequalities to create transformative learning experiences and constructive environment for engaging young people. It is seen as a reflection of the collective expectations and perceptions possessed and actively expressed by young people, adult leaders, parents and all the concerned stakeholders of the organization which is driven by the changing circumstances.
The Pragathi Path Pavillion operated between 29th January 2025 and 2nd February 2025 at the Diamond Jubilee Jamboree conducted at Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The distinctive feature associated can be deemed as the involvement, engagement and empowerment of young people in the overall functioning of the pavilion which was guided by adult supervision and support. The pavilion was tasked with the responsibility of disseminating information and knowledge while generating awareness among all the participants of the jamboree. A footfall of 15000 scouts comprising young people and adult leaders, contributed to the overall success and achievement of the operational objective.
Volunteers at the pavilion interacted with all the participants to elucidate on the progressive sections of the youth program alongside the proposed award system and scheme of advancement. In addition to the same, explanation on the integration of the Safe From Harm Policies into the youth programme, Plan-Do-Review methodology and SPICES framework was provided through relatable examples. Lastly, connecting it to the educational journey and decoding the challenge areas, diversity and inclusion, special interest areas was undertaken to ensure robust awareness among the participants.
