The founder of scouting, Lord Baden Powell, believed that the scout scarf is not just a decoration but a symbol of unity, self-respect, utility, and brotherhood. To convey this message to young scouts, the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay District Association, organized a grand one-day program on August 1, 2025, on the occasion of World Scout Scarf Day. The program was held at East Central Railway Inter College, DDU premises. The program was led by Senior Divisional Personnel Officer, Mr. Ujjwal Anand, and Mr. Sumit Chatterjee, Assistant District Commissioner (Scout). The program began with a flag ceremony, followed by over 190 enthusiastic scouts and guides participating in a rally with the message of "Scarf Day" and "Save Environment". The rally started from Railway Inter College and went up to Bakle Ground, spreading a vibrant message of scouting and collective responsibility. During the day-long event, children participated enthusiastically in cultural programs, scarf-making competitions, rangoli decoration, and scarf exhibitions, showcasing their creative talents. Mr. Amarendra Kumar, while appreciating the disciplined and inspiring behavior of the children, said, "A true scout unites society and sets an example of unity at every step." The event also marked the farewell ceremony for Mr. Amarendra Kumar, who was retiring, and was given a heartfelt sendoff by the DDU district association members. The Assistant District Commissioner (Scout) highlighted the inspiring history of scouting, while Mrs. Soma Chatterjee praised the children's hard work and dedication to scouting. The program was attended by dignitaries like Mr. Shiv Kumar, Principal, Railway Inter College, and Mrs. Ayesha Siddiqui, Assistant District Commissioner (Guide). The success of the program was attributed to the collaboration of Mr. Santosh Tiwari, State Organization Commissioner, and other district association officials. This event left an indelible mark of World Scarf Day in the DDU division.
