Tree-mendous effort at Frisco Fire Station by Pack 197

Cub Scout Pack 197 Gives Back to the Frisco Community Several packs of Frisco Cub Scouts participated in a “tree-mendous” community service project on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Frisco Fire Station #7. The project was spearheaded by Cub Scout Pack 197, which is made up of boys between first and fifth grades from Christie and Gunstream Elementary Schools in Frisco ISD. With help from Cub Scout Pack 290, Troop 77, Troop 416, and Troop 216 (all also from Frisco, TX), the group planted 17 trees. In total, more than 20 adults and 30 youth participated - donating over 120 hours of service! Cub Scout Pack 197 organized the event as one of its two annual community service projects after receiving a donation of 17 Cypress trees from Chambersville Tree Farm in McKinney. With this wonderful donation, Pack 197 was able to partner with Frisco Fire Station #7. According to Chief Todd Humbarger, Fire Station #7 had lost its original trees due to ongoing drought over the past two years.
