Training Leaders for a Better Scouting Practice

In the efforts to renew our National Youth Programme, several seminars and trainings were delivered to local leaders to introduce elements of the renewed Youth Programme. Emphasis was given to the Scout Method and the Section Methods, competency-based progressive schemes and youth engagement in decision making to plan program cycles.

Scout Leader Seminars in Two Parts (August 2020 and April-May 2021)
64 young leaders participated in the first seminar that was held at our national campsite in Byurakan, were participants engaged in different activities portraying the implementation of scouting in their local groups. Followed by a more practical seminar, where 41 youth leaders applied the knowledge they had gained in the previous seminar, to produce plans and activities they would implement in their local groups.

Cub Scout Leader Seminar (April 2021)
The main focus was to use the cub-scout method effectively and involve democratic decision-making in planning the activities, making sure the cub-scouts interest towards their own development are taken into consideration.
